SOC 205 - Sociology of DisabilityCredits: 5 A sociological study of disability includes the implications of disability on identity formation and social policies. Examination also includes the intersectionality of disability with other categories such as race, gender, sexual orientation and social class. Investigates the Disability Rights Movement, from the enactment of the American with Disabilities Act to the development of the model of Universal Design.
Prerequisite: Eligible for ENGL& 101 or instructor’s permission. Satisfies Requirement: Social Science and Diversity
