GEOG& 100 - Introduction to Geography

Survey of elements, major concepts, and methods of the field of geography. Topics include weather, climate, soils, wild vegetation, settlement, population, agricultural systems, and other selected topics.

Prerequisite: Eligible for ENGL 099 or instructor’s permission.

Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:

Use maps and other geographic representations, geospatial technologies, and spatial thinking to understand and communicate information.
Use mental maps to organize information about people, places, and environments in a spatial context.
Analyze the spatial organization of people, places, and environments on Earth’s surface.
