CJ 299 - Independent Study-Criminal Justice

Encourages students to study independently in a field they find most useful to their academic or career aspirations. Students choose an area in criminal justice and work in conjunction with instructor to study and conduct research independently.

Course Outcomes:
Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:

Work independently in a field he or she finds most useful to their academic/career endeavor.
Recognize current trends, special areas of interest to students, and/or other relevant topics during the current year that are timely in nature.
Discuss major U.S. trends in crime, criminal law, criminology or criminal justice.
Understand, read and conduct research independently with the guidance of the instructor.
Develop, understand and/or evaluate their own values and opinions as they relate to course topics.

Meet obligations necessary to complete individual and group tasks.
