JAPN& 122 - Japanese II Credits: 5 A direct continuation of JAPN& 121 . The focus of the course is the systematic study of Japanese vocabulary, grammar and kanji using the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Attained communicative competency can be applied to interactions with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds and native speakers in classroom and real-world situations.
Enrollment Requirement: A grade of 2.0 or higher in JAPN& 121 or equivalent with instructor consent. Eligible for JAPN& 121 . The equivalent of JAPN& 121 is one year in high school with a grade of B or higher.
Satisfies Requirement: Humanities/Fine Arts/English Course Fee: $5.00
Course Outcomes: Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:
- Use hiragana, katakana, and kanji.
- Discuss requests with the te-form.
- Discuss likes and dislikes with noun phrases.
- Use informal speech with the plain form of verbs and adjectives.
- Discuss reasons with the plain form of verbs and adjectives.
