AVIA 159 - Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Physical Security

Examines the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to protect physical assets and properties, the benefits and risks they pose, and teaches students how to evaluate sites and implement a UAV security system.

Course Outcomes:
Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:

  1. Describe physical security fundamentals as they apply to the use of UAV.
  2. Understand regulations, compliance and investigations relating to UAV Technology security. 
  3. Understand basic operations, physical and environmental security. 
  4. Perform site evaluations and propose UAV security use.
  5. Design UAV security plans.

Program Outcomes
  1. Prepare for a position in the aviation industry or related fields utilizing unmanned aerial systems.
  2. Employ their understanding of the integral parts of the unmanned aerial system industry through practical application of diverse subjects.
  3. Demonstrate their ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary and diverse team of aviation and other industry professionals with technology used with unmanned aerial systems.
