Welding Technology Certificates Curriculum Map

The Welding program offers the opportunity for welding students to earn 3 certificates  Basic Arc and Flame  Intermediate Arc and Flame  and Advanced Arc Welding   in addition to the Welding Technology, AAS  degree.

Below are the courses that lead to these certificates.

Dual Credit and Academic Credit for Prior Learning- Students who have completed classes at another school with a GRC CTE Dual Credit agreements  or students who pursue and obtain Academic Credit for Prior Learning may be able to apply those credits towards a degree or certificate. Students will need to work with an academic advisor for confirmation.

Sample Schedule


This sample schedule is provided as a guide for a full-time student.  Students should meet with a faculty advisor throughout their course of study. Enrollment requires instructor consent. An customized curriculum map can be accessed in Navigate.

Apply for Basic Arc and Flame


You can apply for the Basic Arc and Flame Certificate and/or continue on to Intermediate Arc and Flame.

Quarter 3 (13 credits)


Apply for Intermediate Arc and Flame


You can apply for the Intermediate Arc and Flame Certificate and/or continue to Advanced Arc Welding.

Quarter 4 (13 credits)


Quarter 5 (13 credits)


Apply for Advanced Arc Welding


You can now apply for Advanced Arc Welding Certificate and/or continue on for the Welding Technology, AAS .
