Information Technology-Foundations Certificate

15 Credits

The Information Technology Foundations certificate is designed to prepare students to enter the IT field by addressing foundational technical concepts that are foundational for the IT field such as the introduction to the Python language, an overview of IT hardware and software and the fundamentals of Internet Protocols and addressing.

Students must earn a grade of 2.5 or higher on all courses in this program. All of the courses required for this certificate apply towards the Cybersecurity and Networking, AAS-T .

Program Outcomes


Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:

  1. Understand what Information Technology is and how it is used in business and industry.
  2. Understand and demonstrate basic IT hardware and operating systems installation and configuration.
  3. Understand and demonstrate basic Internet Protocol networking.
