H SCI 113 - Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology Credits: 3 Covers the basics of human anatomy and physiology including anatomical terminology, basic biochemistry, cells and tissues, and the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic/immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. Introduces common human disease processes and general medical terminology. Prepare students to take advanced anatomy and physiology courses.
Course Outcomes: Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:
- Understand the organization of the human body, role of genetics, lifestyle and aging in health.
- Understand the growth and development across the lifespan.
- Understand the large organ system and the basic anatomy and physiology and diseases.
- Understand common physical and mental disabilities.
