GERM& 221 - German IV

Systematic review of German grammar. Practice in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Oral practice through scaffolded conversations and discussions of selected German texts.

Enrollment Requirement: GERM& 123  with a grade of 2.0 or higher or placement by language instructor; eligible for ENGL 99 .

Satisfies Requirement: Humanities/Fine Arts/English

Course Outcomes:
Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to use oral and written German in real life scenarios.
  2. Make comparisons and express opinions.
  3. Narrate events using the present and the past tenses.
  4. Examine texts in German from literature and media.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of the historical and lingering impacts of World War 2 and the post-war era.
