Criminal Justice, AAS-T

90 Credits

The Criminal Justice degree program is a broad discipline, encompassing the scientific study of crime, criminals, the criminal justice system, treatment of offenders and theories of crime causation from an interdisciplinary perspective. Students should contact a criminal justice advisor in order to create a customized program of study.

Many criminal justice students continue their academic careers; some others seek employment with a variety of criminal justice agencies; other students are returning law enforcement officers updating their skills and education.

Criminal Justice Students may gain employment in local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies, correctional facilities, probation and parole agencies or juvenile detentions and probation.

Students interested in transfer should consult the transfer institution catalog or transfer department.

Program Outcomes:


Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:

  1. Give reasons for conclusions, assumptions, beliefs and hypotheses.
  2. Meet obligations necessary to complete individual and group tasks.

This degree can lead to a large number of career possibilities, some of which may include what you find at the right. The majority of these jobs require a bachelor’s degree and this degree can assist you with earning that bachelor’s degree.

Students must attain a grade of 2.0 or above in all core classes.

Select any two courses from at least two separate areas of Natural Science Distribution  courses. Five credits must be from List A, including a minimum of 5 credits from lab sciences. The additional 5 credits can be from List A or List B. courses designated with Ⓛ symbol, must be included.
