Aviation Technology - Unmanned Aerial Systems, AAS

This degree will introduce the student to the world of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and will allow them to learn about the regulatory environment, licensing requirements for an operator, operational issues, and commercial uses and limitations of unmanned aerial vehicles. The degree will also instruct students in basic and advanced flying skills with emphasis in photography and various other topics. 

This AAS degree program is approved by the Veterans Administration.

Program Outcomes:


Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:

  1. Prepare for a position in the aviation industry or related fields utilizing unmanned aerial systems.
  2. Employ their understanding of the integral parts of the unmanned aerial system industry through practical application of diverse subjects.
  3. Demonstrate their ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary and diverse team of aviation and other industry professionals with technology used with unmanned aerial systems.
