The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is a key member of the rehabilitation team. A PTA works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, designing and implementing treatment programs to help individuals to restore mobility, strength and function. The job requires a PTA to be physically active with hands-on work. There are variable work settings which include outpatient clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, home health settings, and schools. Prospective students must complete program pre-requites and co-requisites and apply to the PTA program.
