Medical Office Administration, AAA with emphasis in Medical Coding and Reimbursement Curriculum Map


This degree option provides student an opportunity to develop essential ICD, CPT, HCPCS and reimbursement skills necessary to obtain employment in the medical billing or coding setting. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for formal exams offered through national organizations in order to obtain medical coding certification.

To earn this degree, the student must complete all core classes. Students in this program must complete each class with a grade of 2.0 or higher.

Dual Credit and Academic Credit for Prior Learning- Students who have completed classes at another school with a GRC CTE Dual Credit agreements or students who pursue and obtain Academic Credit for Prior Learning may be able to apply those credits towards a degree or certificate. Students must work with a BTAC faculty advisor for confirmation.

Sample Schedule


This sample schedule is provided as a guide for a full-time student eligible for ENGL& 101 and appropriate math. This curriculum map assumes a fall quarter start. A customized curriculum map will be needed for students starting the program in a different quarter and with other circumstances. Not every course is offered every quarter: careful planning is required to complete the degree in the fewest number of quarters.
