OTA 194 - Special Topics 1: Occupational Therapy Assistant

Credits: 1-3
Enable students to pursue special areas of interest, by participating in specific lecture content, in the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program as directed by the program director and faculty. Students will participate and be evaluated in program lectures in order to meet the required ACOTE standard.

Enrollment Requirement: Students must be enrolled in the OTA program.

Discuss the basic tenets of occupational therapy.
Conduct and document a screening and evaluation process.

Read and use professional literature in the field of occupational therapy.
Discuss the importance of ethics, values, and responsibilities in the field of occupational therapy.
