IT 190 - Introduction to Linux Credits: 5 Introduces the student to basic file system navigation, user and group administration, software applications, operating system update methods and shell scripting in the Linux operating system environment at the command line using the Terminal.
Course Outcomes: Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:
- Use the Terminal application to perform entry-level Linux administration.
- Develop BASH scripts to perform backup operations on a Linux system.
- Perform Linux software and operating system updates.
- Understand and implement Linux file and directory permissions.
- Understand Linux user, group, file system and operating system security.

- Understand and demonstrate procedures to install, configure, support, and troubleshoot operating systems and networking hardware.
