IT 360 - Security Operations, Analysis & Forensics Credits: 5 Provides an introduction to the knowledge and skills needed for a Security Analyst working with a Security Operations Center team. It teaches core security and forensic skills needed for monitoring, detecting, investigating, analyzing and responding to security events, thus protecting systems and organizations from cybersecurity risks, threats and vulnerabilities.
Prerequisite: Admission into a BAS in IT program and instructor’s permission.
Course Outcomes: Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:
- Describe End Point Threat Analysis.
- Describe Computer Forensics Processes.
- Perform Network Intrusion Analysis.
- Perform Incident Response.
- Perform Data and Event Analysis.
- Explain the Processes involved in Incident Handling.
Program Outcomes
- Plan, implement, administer, and support appropriate information technologies and systems to help an organization achieve its goals and objectives. Information technologies and systems may include: servers, client computers, mobile devices, operating systems, network applications, local area networks, wide area networks, wireless networks, network segments, intranets, and so on.
- Analyze the security vulnerabilities of an organization’s information technology resources.
- Plan and implement security measures and practices for an organization’s information technology resources.
- Prepare for industry certification exams.
