JAPN& 222 - Japanese V Credits: 5 JAPN& 222 is a direct continuation of JAPN&221 . Focuses on the systematic study of Japanese vocabulary, grammar, kanji and Japanese culture using the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Prerequisite: JAPN& 221 or instructor’s permission.
Satisfies Requirement: Humanities/Fine Arts/English
Course Outcomes: Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:
- Use hiragana, katakana, and kanji.
- Discuss hypothetical situations and natural consequences with conditionals.
- Express giving and receiving depending on perspective and social status.
- Describe negative feelings caused by an event with passive speech.
- Express conjecture based on direct or indirect evidence.
- Use Japanese in the classroom with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Use Japanese with native speakers in real-world situations.
