WELD 177 - Welding Work Experience 1-3

Credits: 1-12
Allows student to work full- or part-time in jobs directly related to their programs and interests. Students may receive a salary or volunteer.

Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in COOP 171 and instructor’s permission.

Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:

Program Outcomes

Work as an industry standard trade welder.
Demonstrate OSHA and WISHA standards for safety in the workplace.
Use multiple welding processes in all positions.
Identify the cause and effect of various welding processes per welding procedure (WPS).
Discuss basic theory of welding and the related equipment.
Conform to AWS and WABO qualification procedures.
