WELD 179 - Welding Work Experience 1-3 Credits: 1-12 Allows student to work full- or part-time in jobs directly related to their programs and interests. Students may receive a salary or volunteer.
Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in COOP 171 and instructor’s permission.
Course Outcomes: Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:
- Course outcomes to be mutually agreed upon between instructor and student.
Program Outcomes
- Work as an industry standard trade welder.
- Demonstrate OSHA and WISHA standards for safety in the workplace.
- Use multiple welding processes in all positions.
- Identify the cause and effect of various welding processes per welding procedure (WPS).
- Discuss basic theory of welding and the related equipment.
- Conform to AWS and WABO qualification procedures.
