The Commercial Pilot Degree program prepares students for entry level jobs as commercial pilots in the aviation industry. Flight programs require a commitment from students. Commitment by the student, to the program, contributes to the student’s success. A student should plan on flying at least twice per week. Students may enter the program at the beginning of any quarter. In addition, a valid 2nd class medical certificate is required, prior to commencing flight training (a 1st class medical is preferred for students pursuing an Airline Transport Pilot certificate). These medical certificates are issued by Federal Aviation Administration designated medical examiners. As well, students must meet the requirements under 14 CFR FAR Part 61.123.
Final grades for the flight (FLT) class are based on the individual class grading policies, stated in the class syllabus.
Program Outcomes:
Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:
- Be thoroughly prepared for an entry-level position as a fixed-wing commercial pilot.
- Demonstrate their understanding of the aviation industry through exams and practical application of aeronautical principles.
- Advance to the BAS in Aeronautical Science.
