Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs of Study

115 Credits

This degree program is a broad discipline, encompassing the scientific study of crime, criminals, the criminal justice system, treatment of offenders, and theories of crime causation. It is interdisciplinary in nature, drawing from such fields as psychology, political science, sociology, economics, biology and law. Students are encouraged to participate in the criminal justice club. Students should contact a criminal justice advisor in order to create a customized program of study.

Many criminal justice students continue their academic careers; some others seek employment with a variety of criminal justice agencies; other students are returning law enforcement officers updating their skills and education.

This degree helps prepare students to transfer to a university to continue their education in Criminal Justice. Those interested in transferring to a university should consider this degree as it also satisfies the requirement of the Associate in Arts Degree, AA-DTA .
