TS 083 - Language Arts in Physical Science Level 3

Credits: 5-10
Introduces Level 3 students to the basic principles of science through reading and writing. Also introduces students to the history and nature of science. Students explore the fundamental concepts of physics, chemistry, astronomy and earth science.

Prerequisite: Appropriate placement and instructor’s permission.

Course Outcomes:
Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:

Find specific evidence to support analysis of science and technical texts.
Determine the meaning of concepts and ideas as they are presented in a scientific texts, charts, and graphs.
Apply the steps of the scientific method to everyday situations as well as laboratory investigations.
Explain events, procedures, ideas or concepts in a scientific or technical text.
Use technology to research and report on topics of scientific significance.

Demonstrate competency in college-ready level mathematics.
