ART 214 - History of Art 3 Credits: 5 Study of the development of visual art from the Romantic Period up to and including contemporary art.
Satisfies Requirement: Humanities/Fine Arts/English Course Outcomes: Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:
- Discuss understand the relationship between art and society in the Romantic period to the present.
- Define the function of art, to clarify, intensify, or otherwise enlarge our experience of life in the Romantic period to the present.
- Discern styles in western art history from the Romantic period to the present.
- Trace the centuries of change, a topical record describing how things, places and people lived as recorded in their art in the Romantic period to the present.
