JOURN 253 - Journalism Internship 3 Credits: 3 Students work for a local newspaper or radio station 10 hours per week each quarter and meet one hour a week with an instructor to evaluate their on-the-job training.
Enrollment Requirement: Instructor consent.
Course Outcomes: Students who successfully complete this class will be able to:
- Work on a newspaper, magazine, radio station or television studio at least 10 hours a week working with professionals.
Program Outcomes Apply relevant criteria and standards when evaluating information in terms of how it will interest and inform their audience.

- Responsibility - Responsibility encompasses those behaviors and dispositions necessary for students to be effective members of a community. This outcome is designed to help students recognize the value of a commitment to those responsibilities which will enable them to work successfully individually and with others.
